Maybe The U.S Is The Great Satan Afterall…

Now, I’m not one to put much stock in the opinions of a group who willingly blows themselves up to exact change but, hey, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, right? I mean, I don’t HAVE to eat McDonald’s. In fact, I know it’s wrong, but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. Am I right or am I right?

Americans hate being called evil. They, like any other nationalistic group of folks (i.e. a nation) get a bit huffy when others talk smack about their glorious little chunk of land. Which is to say, they bomb the shit out of anyone doing so — or orchestrate coups, fund anti-government paramilitaries, or cut off trade routes — as long as there isn’t some serious capital at stake.

So I don’t know how to state this delicately enough to prevent the CIA from tapping my phone and monitoring my internet usage, but how else can one explain the presence of a giant fucking pentagram within the street architecture of a nation’s capital city? It obviously wasn’t designed with traffic flow in mind. Unless of course D.C is a city of serious metal fans who don’t mind gridlock, but anyone who knows anything about music is aware that hardcore reigns supreme in D.C — despite any of the inherent genre crossovers that have taken place over the past twenty years. Ian MacKaye does not throw the horns.

Music aside, I generally don’t put much faith in conspiracy-theory types. They’re usually just flag-waving jingos of a different stripe, wary of the UN and any other perceivable “world government” organization that might undermine the sovereignty of the stars and stripes.

Nonetheless, the fact that the White House sits at the point of a giant pentagram is a bit unsettling. Even for a skeptic like myself. When you consider the essence of the “American Way” to be the pursuit of material wealth to the exclusion of all else, and the glorification of the individual to the detriment of the whole — both tenets of Satanic belief — well, it’s at least worthy of a graphic novelization. A serial, even.

But who cares, right? If they say they’re right, then they’re right. Right? And maybe Lucifer is a cool guy. I mean, he’s easily the best character in Paradise Lost and that’s good enough for me.
